art school confidential

i saw art school confidential yesterday with two good friends, gelsie and eileen. we met at metro station. who else hates the new metro warning woman? and the little ditty they play when the doors are closing. it bothered me but made gelsie thoroughly depressed. so did the crazy woman talking to herself. and the family who were coming home from the nationals game. a lot of things depressed gelsie last night.

we went to the E street theater after visiting H&M and the washington tourist store - which never gets old. the movie was crazy good. the beginning was ridiculously funny, i laughed every two seconds. It changed very suddenly, and got a little (a lot) macabre, but still really good. Even the dark parts were funny, and it's the kind of movie that we're going to need to see a few hundred more times to catch all of the funny details. The highlight was when steve buscemi's character (who was uncredited...?) appeared and gelsie screamed out, SEYMOUR! of course, there were many parts that reminded me of ghost world, but all in all it was rather different. the ending, unlike ghost world's, was very funny and actually happy.

gelsie and i looking cool as always in front of the theater.

the week in review and looking ahead.

an easy week for a dc high school student - end of year exams are next week. I only have three, one of which is Social Justice, the easiest exam to bullshit, because i got three classes out of the way during AP week. Thus, i've been spending this week leaving school at 1 each day and/or not going to morning classes. The less i do, the more tired i feel.

this weekend i plan to shop for summer clothes and hopefully hit up the indie dance party at the black cat on saturday night. a tip to those who haven't been - the bliss site says that the party starts at nine but dancing won't be good until at least 10:30 or 11. Unless your idea of good dancing is being one of two dancers on the floor, the other a drunk woman gyrating against a pole. But once Bliss gets crowded, dancing is prime. Dont ask me about the bar. im underage. (bliss site)

as for shopping i assume i will just do the cheap thing and visit H&M, maybe some of the stores on the U Street Corridor (Meeps, etc). My +1 needs clothes as well but he wants to go to tysons. not so much the epicenter of fashion, but you have to know where to look.
